Key Considerations for Selecting Panel Mount Power Supplies:

  • Safety Standards and Certifications: Panel mount power supplies must comply with international safety regulations (such as IEC 62368-1, IEC 60335-1, IEC 61558-2-16, IEC 61010-1) and electromagnetic compatibility standards (EN 55032, EN 55035), and obtain safety certifications (such as UL, CSA, CE) to ensure stable device operation.
  • Output Stability and Protection: Confirm sufficient power capacity within the rated operating voltage range. Protection features include SHORT (short-circuit), OPP (over-power protection), OVP (over-voltage protection), and OTP (over-temperature protection).
  • Environmental Adaptability: According to application needs, check the power supply’s ability to withstand operating temperature and humidity ranges, dust, vibration, and other industrial environment challenges.

These power supplies are suitable for manufacturing industry equipment, household appliances, and monitoring systems. Some models offer 150% to 200% peak power, providing excellent performance for motor and machine. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C, with damp-proof treatments available for high-humidity working environments.

Peak Power Definition

Peak Power is used in many cases, such as when a load or motor starts up or when a machine arm's torque suddenly increases. During these times, the output current (peak current) can exceed both the load current and the average current. As shown in the figure below, t1 is shorter than t2. If t1 lasts too long, it can cause localized overheating in the PSU and damage circuit components.
